Music classes for toddlers, from age 1.5
Most music schools ask you to wait. BodhiTree is one of the only schools in Pune and Mumbai teaching children from as young as 1.5 years old, right here at our centre.

Why start so young?
Children absorb music the same way they absorb language: through immersion, repetition and joyful exposure, long before they can read a note or name a chord.
The earlier that exposure begins, the more naturally music becomes instinct rather than a subject to be studied. That's why we offer lessons for children as young as 1.5 years old, during the exact window when the brain absorbs it most effortlessly. Read more about our teaching philosophy.

How we teach toddlers
Toddlers start in our Music and Movement program: play-based sessions where they're exposed to a range of instruments while building rhythm and beat.
Once a child has a basic sense of rhythm and pulse, usually within a few months, they move on to 1:1 instrumental lessons, typically starting on piano, since it's the easiest instrument for small fingers to press and get a sound from right away.
Music & Movement
Play-based group sessions with rhythm, beat and many instruments.
Rhythm and pulse
Usually within a few months, children keep a steady beat.
1:1 instrument lessons
Typically starting on piano, then guitar, drums, violin and more.

Music in every part of the day
For preschoolers, music isn't a separate class. Rooted in Orff Schulwerk and Dalcroze Eurhythmics, it runs through language, maths and science, with quarterly recitals that build stage confidence.
Thinking
Rhythm teaches sequencing and pattern recognition, the roots of maths and logic.
Language
Melody and songs grow vocabulary, listening and early phonics.
Feelings & friendship
Playing together builds empathy, patience and collaboration.
